Groups of 5 people maximum. Village on the Ucayali river. Shamanic work under the guidance of an Onaya (the one who knows).

Don Pedro, Onaya — village on the Ucayali
Don Pedro leads our centre. His grandfather, who passed on the medicine to him, was a Muraya — the highest rank in the Shipibo Amazonian tradition. Don Pedro is an Onaya. His sons are curanderos. The lineage continues, unbroken.
Three generations. One unbroken transmission.
Don Pedro did not come to this through ambition. It is the path he received.
The diet is not only healing. It is a school. One does not diet merely to receive, but to learn.
Under Don Pedro's guidance, one enters into direct communication with the spirit of the plants — Niwe Rao, Bobinsana, and others. The process demands silence, isolation and a discipline few anticipate. That is the price the plant asks before it opens and transmits its songs, its protections, its icaros.
There are no books here. Learning happens in the body and in the mind.
Learning the plants without a guide is walking in the dark. Don Pedro welcomes each apprentice with patience, ensuring that each one progresses at their own pace, safely. He is there because it is his path.
There are two reasons to come here. To learn the path of the plants, or to heal. Both are legitimate — it is for you to choose what you are seeking.
This experience is primarily intended for those who wish to deepen their connection with Amazonian medicine or commit to the path of curanderismo. It is a serious place of work.
Sincere beginners who feel a profound calling are also welcome — but being a beginner does not mean arriving unprepared. The diet is physically and psychologically demanding. It is not suitable for everyone.
A prior interview is mandatory for each participant. The only condition for acceptance: respect the framework and truly commit to it.
I am not a curandero. My role is logistical.
I take care of everything that allows you to focus on your inner work: accommodation in Pucallpa before your arrival, transport to the village, meals during the Petit Sama, and organisation of your reintegration week after the diet.
If you have questions about the post-diet period or nutrition, I am available. The shamanic work — the diet, the ceremonies, the relationship with the plants — belongs to Don Pedro, and Don Pedro alone.
No collective sharing imposed. No staging. If you need to talk, I am here. If you need silence, it is respected.
My name is Anthony. I have been studying traditional Amazonian medicine for ten years. For six years, I have been doing diets with Don Pedro.
I have the good fortune of knowing an Onaya. Learning at his side is a rare experience — and it is this good fortune that I want to share.
It is this path that led me to organise these groups — so that others may access this work under serious conditions, and have their own true encounter.
One does not choose one's plant. One is guided.
The first diets open the heart, cleanse the channels, prepare the apprentice to perceive the voice of the plants. The plant works where it is needed.
Before welcoming the spirit of a plant, the body must be purified. The vomito marks the break with your former life.
Don Pedro presents the apprentice to the plants and to the spirits of the forest and establishes the spiritual contract.
You enter a complete fast. The plant is brought to you each evening in a small ceremony. Hydration remains essential: you may hydrate with two coconut waters a day and water, or with water alone — it is your choice.
Duration: 15 days or one month, depending on the plant and the apprentice's commitment.
A complete fast can cause hypoglycaemia, intense fatigue, and dizziness. There is no professional medical supervision on site. Contraindicated for people suffering from diabetes, heart conditions, eating disorders, or any pathology requiring regular food intake. If in any doubt, consult a doctor before registering.
The plant is no longer ingested but its spirit continues to work. One meal per day at midday, without salt, sugar, or fat. For 15 days of Sama, allow 6 to 8 days of Petit Sama — this varies depending on the plant and Don Pedro's judgment.
A final ceremony seals the work and closes your energetic body before your return.
Everything begins in Pucallpa. Two hours by fast boat on the Ucayali, and we arrive at the village. Traditional casitas open to the forest, a bed, a mosquito net, clean water. Simple and sufficient.
The Ucayali at dusk — two hours by boat from Pucallpa
Your space during the diet. The isolation begins here.
Simple and sufficient — in the heart of the forest.
Alone with the plant, the forest all around.
One to two weeks before arrival: no drugs or alcohol, no pork, reduce heavy fats and refined sugars. What matters is arriving with a clear intention, not having been perfect for the fifteen days prior.
I pick you up at Pucallpa airport and accompany you to the hotel. A day of rest and acclimatisation. In the evening we meet — your questions, your intentions, what Don Pedro has shared with me about the plant meant for you.
Shopping for the diet. Final logistical details. Last questions before departure into the jungle.
Two hours by boat on the Ucayali. Arrival at the village, settling into your Casita. Meeting with Don Pedro. The diet begins.

The complete fast begins. The plant is brought to you each evening in a small ceremony.
I remain available for practical matters and nutrition during the Petit Sama. Don Pedro handles all shamanic work.
This is the closing ceremony of the diet. It seals the work and closes your energetic body before your return.
Between 5 and 7 days at the hotel — this is a guideline, not an obligation; you may choose to stay for less time. Progressive dietary reintroduction. I am present and remain available if you need to talk.
This is the most important point of your preparation.
A complete cessation validated by your doctor is mandatory at least one month before the first ceremony. The combination can cause a severe serotonin syndrome, potentially fatal.
All ongoing treatments must be disclosed during the interview — anxiolytics, sleeping pills, cardiac treatments, antibiotics.
There is no professional medical supervision on site. Transparency about your health is your best protection. If in doubt, speak before registering.
Five people maximum per group, because Don Pedro cannot give genuine attention beyond that number. And without genuine attention, the diet does not work.
On price: we offer a rate that reflects actual costs, without intermediaries. This medicine should not be reserved for those who can afford the large Western centres.
Don Pedro is respected by the curanderos of the region for his integrity.
You can come alone, as a pair, or as a formed group — I take care of composing the group. Departure is confirmed from 5 participants.
